Kingsley, Iowa: Trudy Lammers Braddy, 88, of Kingsley, died Monday, August 18, 2014 at home with hospice. Services will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 at Morningside Presbyterian Church with Pastor Dave Koehler officiating. Rohde Funeral Home of Kingsley is assisting with arrangements.Trudy was the last grandchild born at the home of St. Helena pioneers, John and Mary (Stratman) Lammers. Trudy was born August 1, 1926 the eighth child of Ignatius and Mary (Wollenbring) Lammers. She attended school at St. Helena and graduated at Mount Marty School, Yankton, SD in 1944. She worked in Sioux City in the 1950's at T.S. Martin Co. and Kidder Knoepfler Chervorlet. Trudy liked to travel. She lived in Germany, LA, NE and IA. She met the love of her life, Randle in Louisiana. They married in Mobile, AL in 1961. They moved to NE in the 1970's, living at her St. Helena family home, then Jackson and Ponca. She supported her sister, Madeline's dream to have a place for families to stay while visiting Ponca. Trudy co-managed and later owned the Wayward Inn. She and Randle retired in 2002 to Kingsley, IA.Trudy enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, cooking and crafting. She was a third generation seamstress. She was very proud of her pioneer heritage and relatives. She shared her knowledge with Mary Ann and Tom, like her family taught her.Trudy was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great and great great grandma and aunt to many of her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Randle, Daughters, Mary Ann & Frank Banys, Kingsley, Sue & John Harrell, Lynn Haven, FL, Tammy Gruis, Homer, NE, Ellen Smith, Aurora, CO, Joann Heck, Herrick, SD, son-in-law, Audie & Merlene Counts, Waycross, GA, grandchildren, Tom & Dawn Braddy, Sioux City, Amy & Chris Deering, Birmingham, AL, Katy Harrell, and Ben & Gina Harrell, Panama City, FL, Mark & Kim Counts, Jacksonville, FL, and Shayley & Dennis Parks, Rosemont, MN, Great grandkids, Piper, Ian, Anna, Michael, Peyton, Grant, Grace Ann, Izzak, Brook, Riley, Rhiannon, and Olivia.She was preceeded in death by her parents, siblings, Veronica Burbach, Leander, Madeline Deneau, Eleanor Becker, Gilbert (Doc), Jerome (Whitey), and Reinold (Butch).Special thanks to Hospice of Siouxland for their amazing staff, care and support.
