Sioux City, Iowa: Randy Joe Pojar, 63, of Sioux City, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 17, 2017 after battling pancreatic cancer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Cross Pointe Church in Sioux City, with Rev. Bob Schoenherr officiating and military rites conducted by Cownie-Church American Legion Post 307 of South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.rohdefh.com.Randy was born February 23, 1954 in Sioux City the son of Virgil and Bonnie (Cornwell) Pojar. While in high school he met the love of his life, Roxanne. They were married 44 years and had many adventures along the way.Randy was a veteran of the Air Force. He was also a Convoy of Hope volunteer, both in Sioux City and in Haiti. He was preparing to plan his third trip to Haiti. Randy enjoyed helping at church and taking care of his acreage. His favorite times were spent with family.Those left to cherish Randy's memory are his wife, Roxanne; daughters, Heather Thompson of Aurora, CO and Aubrie (Mani) Calamanco of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Michael Schroeder of Sioux City, Elizabeth Thompson of Ames, IA, Danielle Calamanco (John Coughlin) of Sioux City, Taylor Calamanco and MJ Calamanco of Peoria, AZ; and a great granddaughter, Kenna Coughlin of Sioux City; sister, Tammy (Steve) Langel, of Sioux City; brothers, Greg Pojar of Sioux City, Jeff (Tammy) Pojar of Portage, MI, and Danny (Donna) Pojar of Kalamazoo, MI; mother-in-law, Donna Baird of Sgt Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding Randy in death were his parents; brother, Scotty Pojar; sister and her husband, Julie and Larry Hallstrom; sister-in-law, Diane Pojar; and father-in-law, Wayland Baird.
