Nancy was born February 17, 1948, Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Wyndham and Dorothy (Helkenn) Bauer. She grew up in Kingsley. She married Karel Grant October 18, 1969 in Anthon, Iowa. Nancy and Karel later moved to Kingsley where they raised their family. Nancy's greatest love was her family and adopted family. She dedicated 20 years of her life to daycare and raising children. It didn't matter if it was day or night, she would watch all children grow. Nancy was known for taking in children who needed a helping hand and became part of Nancy's family. Once you were part of Nancy's family you were always a family member, she adored her two daughters, Michele and Susan and her son-in-law, Chuck. Nancy adored her grandbabies, Arianna and Brianna, they created a new life for her.Nancy loved to cook big meals, she loved the fellowship of her friends and family, she was ready to help anyone. Also, she worked as a bartender for many years where met many new friends. Nancy was always ready to give encouragement to family or friend who needed support but was also willing to be very honest if the individual needed some loving guidance.Survivors include her husband, Karel Grant of LeMars, two daughters, Susan (Chuck) Knaack of Cushing ,Iowa, and Michele Grant of LeMars, Iowa, and two granddaughters, Arianna and Brianna, two sisters, Carol (Dennis) Caldwell of Columbus, Ohio and Betty (Walt) Rickett of Kingsley, Iowa, several nieces and nephews.Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Wyndham and Dorothy Bauer.
