Frank Hoppe, 92, of Kingsley, Iowa, passed away, Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa.Frank was born October 20, 1923, Correctionville, IA, the son of Fred W. and Bertha S. (Volkert) Hoppe. He grew up in the Correctionville area attending Summit #2 rural school through 8th grade and graduating from Correctionville High School in 1941. He was baptized December 16, 1923 and confirmed July 3, 1938 both at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cushing, Iowa. Frank married Constance Elaine Paulsen May 26, 1948, Cushing, IA. After their marriage they made their home on a farm north of Correctionville, where Frank had been raised.Frank farmed from 1946 - 1997 when he and Connie retired and moved to Kingsley, Iowa. The farm was a Century Farm in 1993. Frank was member of St. John's Lutheran Church until 1998 when he became a member of Salem Lutheran Church. While a member at St. John's Lutheran Church Frank was active in teaching Sunday School and held various offices of the church council. Frank always considered church a very important part of his life. He was a member of the Pierson Blue Ribbon 4-H Club and a leader of Rock Union 4-H Club for many years, also, serving on the 4-H Extension Council. Frank served in the U. S. Navy from April 1, 1944 through May 29, 1946 as aviation ordanceman 3rd Class. Frank enjoyed traveling on bus tours, playing cards, dancing, woodworking, gardening and lawn care. He enjoyed activities where he was able to spend time with his family which was very important to Frank.He is survived by his wife, Connie, Marcus, IA, daughters, Nancy Brodie ,Sioux City, IA and Jane (Kim) Dreyer, Algona, IA, sons, Gary (Kathy) Hoppe, Correctionville, IA, and John (Tricia) Hoppe of Pierson, Iowa, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ryan Brodie, Tyler, Brooke and Sidney, Sioux City, IA, Erin (Darin) Radcliff, Grace, Wes and Sully, Spirit Lake, IA, Nate (Missy) Dreyer, Lucas and Lucy, Fenton, IA, Kate Dreyer, Pella, IA, Marissa (Tony) Hager, Braxton, Granger, IA, Heidi (Dean) Neubauer, Minneapolis, MN, Colin (Liz) Hoppe, Emmetsburg, IA, Jacque (Jordan) Bird, Paullina, IA and Katelyn Hoppe, Pierson, IA. Also, surviving are two brothers-in-law, Luverne Buley, Council Bluffs, IA, Dennis (Sara) Paulsen, Marino Valley, CA, and a sister-in-law, Alice Paulsen, Cushing, IA, along with other cousins, family and many friends.Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertha Hoppe, parents-in-law, Walter and Della Paulsen, grandson, Brad Brodie, sisters, Margaret (Lester) Baker, Grace (Les) Linn, and Carol Buley. sister-in-law, Phyllis Paulsen and brothers-in-law, Norman Paulsen and Harlan (Alice) Paulsen, nieces, Marjorie Paulsen, Shelly and Kelly Paulsen, Jennifer Hagey, and nephew, Vern Buley.Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church, Care Iniative Hospice or Camp High Hop
