Minnetta Marlene Olson was born April 25, 1933, Lawton, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Lillian (Hageman) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated Lawton High School and later married Kenneth Schweitzberger. They lived in the Moville/Kingsley area where they raised their family. Her husband, Kenneth passed in 2007. Minnetta continued to live on their farm in rural Kingsley. She loved living on the farm and taking care of it, feeding the birds and being outside. She never wanted to leave the farm. Minnetta worked at the Kingsley Nursing & Rehab Center for many years before retiring. She was also a volunteer at the Kingsley-Pierson School for several years. Survivors include her finacee, Byron Foster of Primghar,IA, four daughters, Roxann (Stan) Haugen, Moville, IA, Rhonda (Gregg) Roepke, Kingsley, IA, Julie Davidson, Moville, IA, and Marlene (Dale) Hughes, Lawton, IA, and one son, Mark (Laurie) Schweitzberger, Kingsley, IA, grandchildren; Jenny Colbert, Jamie(Nick) Young, Alisha (Matthew) Knapp, Brad (Erin) Roepke, Katie (Chad) Utesch, Nick (Liz) Wahlberg, Josh (Sadie) Wahlberg, Tate, Jade, and Teren Davidson, Heidi Boschen, Jacob and Jordyn Schweitzberger, and great-grandchildren, Caeden, Cameron, Kinlee, Brody, Morgan, Brilee, Hudson, Cohen, Bryson, Lux, Kane, Harper, and Owen. Also surviving are two sisters, Virginia (Doyle) Smith of Lawton, IA, and Marlis Friesner of Sioux City, IA, and two sisters-in-law, Sue Olson of Sioux City, IA, and Betsy Schweitzberger of Remsen, IA.She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Dustin Nitzschke, son-in-law, Thomas Davidson, and a brother, Virgil Olson.
