Kingsley, Iowa: Milton Julius Henry Bauer, 80, passed away unexpectantly Monday, July 1, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery in Pierson, Iowa. Graveside military rites were conducted by the American Legion Nash Post #140 of Kingsley, Iowa. Rohde Funeral Home of Kingsley assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be directed to www.rohdefh.com.Milton was born December 24, 1933 in rural Kingsley, Iowa the son of Henrich C. "Henry" and Dorathea (Hollmer) Bauer. He grew up in the Kingsley-Pierson area, graduating from Pierson High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1955 until November 1957. During his enlistment in the Army, Milton was a member of the 26th Infantry Scout Dog platoon. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Milton farmed with his parents in the Kingsley area. After his parent's retirement, Milton continued to farm the family farm. Milton married Judy Van Wyhe on August 2, 1964. He was active in 4-H and was a leader for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Nash Post #140 of Kingsley. Milton enjoyed farming, sharpening disc blades and he was very proud of his service in the United States Army.Milton is survived by his wife, Judy, and two daughters, Natalie and Allison Bauer of Kingsley.Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorathea Bauer.
