Lyle Loren Pratt was born on December 26, 1922 in Elkhorn Township near Kingsley, Iowa, the son of George Arthur and Mary Agnes (Conley) Pratt. He attended rural school near his home and later graduated from Union Consolidated High School, rural Remsen, Iowa. Lyle and Marian (Brabander) were united in marriage on August 12, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars, Iowa. The couple made their home in the Kingsley and Moville area, then in 1964 purchased and moved to their farm near Washta, Iowa, wintering for 21 years at their home in Mesa, Arizona. In November of 2011 they both became residents of the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center. Lyle was a member of First Lutheran Church of Kingsley, where he served in different offices of the church. Lyle enjoyed Marian's good cooking, especially her homemade bread. He loved traveling to over 40 of the 50 states, playing cards, morning coffee with the guys in Washta and Kingsley, spending winters in Arizona and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. Lyle is lovingly remembered by Marian, his wife of 64 years; son, Terry (Stephanie) Pratt of Kingsley; daughters, Linda ( Steve) Bohnenkamp and Debbie ( Dale ) Schroeder both of Remsen; 9 grandchildren, Zachary, Christopher, Samantha, Andrew Pratt of Kingsley, Kevin (Susan) Feeney of Ankeny, IA, Scott Bohnenkamp of Remsen, Eric Bohnenkamp of Kansas City, MO, Travis and Trevor Schroeder of Remsen; 3 brothers, Clarence ( Dorothy) Pratt of Aurelia, IA, Orlin ( Ellen) Pratt of Remsen, Richard ( Donna ) Pratt of Le Mars; sister-in-law, Patricia Pratt of Le Mars, and 34 nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents; and infant daughter, Marilyn Pratt; son-in-law, Mike Feeney; brothers, Wyndom ( Charlotte) Pratt, Donald ( Vonnie ) Pratt, Robert Pratt; sisters, Erma ( Leonard ) Plendl, Iona ( Justin) Sudtelgte, Dorothy ( Wendell) Rainboth; brother-in-law, Wallace ( Gloria) Brabander, and 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
