Laura Suzanne (House) Becker went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 1, 2014 after courageously battling a long illness.Laura was born the only child of Robert James and Mercede Evon (Hesse) House on June 5, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa. In 1963, she graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, SD. She was voted Homecoming Queen her senior year.On June 5, 1963, she married Danny Lee Becker from Sioux City, IA. They made their home in Sioux City for many years. They later moved with their five children to Bemidjii, MN, where they lived for 15 years. Laura and Danny also spent several years in New Mexico, and then back to Iowa to retire around family. Laura and Danny had recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.Laura attended New Life Baptist Church in Kingsley, Iowa where she was a member. Her faith and love of God were very important to her and kept her strong and made her the loving caring person she was. Laura loved to travel, and especially loved the Southwest and the mountains of Colorado. Laura and Danny made several trips to their favorite parts of the country. Being in a wheelchair for 26 years never stopped her from being active and doing the things she loved.Laura was the proud mother of five beautiful children; Amy and her husband Colby Parr of Correctionville, IA, Jeff and his wife Jill Becker of Kingsley, Joel Becker of Kingsley, Emily Becker-Dahl of Waterloo, IA, and Aaron and his wife Angie Becker of Kingsley.Laura is survived by her husband, Danny, her five children, thirteen grandchildren, whom she adored; Josh Fairbanks, Jake Fairbanks, Jordan Gray, Chris Halstead-Becker, Corey Becker, Haley Dahl, Jacinda Parr, Noah Becker, Tyler Dahl, Grace Becker, Nick Becker, Cole Becker, Zachary (Ziggy) Becker, and Lucy Becker; her eight great grandchildren, Jameson, Isaiah, Kyra, Jessa, Asher, Treyton, Addaleigha and Joey.She was preceded in death by her parents, Mercede and Robert, her grandparents, and her special friend "Hoosier" who was her service dog for eleven years.
