Judith "Judy" A. Bauer, 80, of Kingsley, IA, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery, Pierson, Iowa. There will be a visitation Thursday, July 15, starting at 10:00---11:00 a.m. for family and close friends of the Bauer family.
Judy was born December 24, 1938, Ireton, IA, the daughter of Peter J. and Helen (Ganzeveld) Van Wyhe. She attended a country school until graduating from eighth grade after that she attended Ireton High School where she graduated. After graduation she attended National Business Training school to learn clerical and secretarial skills for working doing office work. Following graduation from National Business Training school she worked for Sioux Tools until she began working at Metz Baking in Sioux City where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. Judy attended Wayne State Teachers College. She and Milton Bauer were married August 2, 1964 and made their home on the farm that they lived on during their married life. Milton passed away July 1, 2014. Judy continued to live on the farm up until the present time. She will always be remembered for being a kind and gentle person who was very devoted to her family.
Judy is survived by two daughters, Allison Bauer and Natalie Bauer both of Kingsley, one sister, Jeanine Meyer, Alta, IA, three brothers Donald (Dorothy) Van Wyhe, Ireton, IA, Ralph (Shirley) Van Wyhe, Salem, SD, and Daniel Van Wyhe, Ireton, IA. Also, surviving are nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Milton, father -in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Dorathea Bauer and and brother-in-law, Jerry Meyer.
