Janice was born September 8, 1936 in Woodbury County, Iowa the daughter of Roy and Garnet (Aldag) Janssen. She graduated from Moville High School with the class of 1954. Janice was united in marriage to Jerald Barthole on November 27, 1954 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley. Together they farmed in the Kingsley and Pierson area prior to moving to Kingsley in 1998. Jerry died January 1, 2010.Janice was a homemaker and raised her children. She was very involved with St. Michael Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She had served as president of the Guild and a CCD teacher. Jerry and Janice enjoyed attending all of their children and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Janice enjoyed bowling, golfing and working in her yard.Janice is survived by three daughters: Jerri Jean (Chuck) Hardie of Kingsley, Janet (Tim) Schenzel of Hill City, SD, Julie (Arlen) Seablom of Pierson and two sons, Joe (Lisa) of Sioux City and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Le Mars; sixteen grandchildren: Kyle and Kevin Hardie, Becki (Ryan) Wiese, Tara (Sean) Bryant, David (Amanda) Campbell, Lana (Nate) Eriksen, Tim (Niki), Randi (Keon) Morgan, Christine (Seth) Knight, Kelly Seablom, Brady (Sarah), Cody (Erica), Dustin, Dylan, Jayden and Dawson Barthole. Twenty great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Melva) of Kingsley and Eugene Janssen of Moville and many nieces and nephews.Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerald, granddaughter, Kimberly Hardie, sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Don Carr and sister-in-law, Eunice Janssen.
