Hazel L Bollin

Kingsley, Iowa: Hazel L. Bollin, 84, of Kingsley passed away peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at United Methodist Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Roger Kurtenbach officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., at the Rohde Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa. Hazel was born July 20, 1927 in Washta, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Mabel (White)Chase. Hazel graduated from Grand Meadow High School in or 1945. On February 22,1947, she was married to Douglas W. Bollin in Sioux City, Iowa. Hazel and Douglas made their home in Kingsley shortly after being married. Douglas passed away on March 21, 2007. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Kingsley. Hazel loved playing bingoand tending to her garden. In the early 1970's, she and Douglas square danced with the Kingsley Swingers. Hazel babysat in her home for many years. In 2009, Hazel moved to assisted living in LeMars and then in November of 2011 she moved to Plymouth Manor Care Center. Survivors include one daughter, Diane Hain of Omaha, NE; three sons, Damon (Nancy)Bollin of Connelly Springs, N.C., Dennis (Patti) Bollin of LeMars,I.A., and Danny (Audrey)Bollin of Kingsley,IA; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Douglas; two sons in infancy, Richard and Jerry; three sisters, Alice Pratt, Ileta Earnest,and Vera Sands; and a brother,Harry Chase Jr.
