Georgia was born February 22, 1936, at Maskell, NE, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Leedom) Swanson. Growing up "she was her Daddy’s girl”.
Attending school in Haskell through High school and going on to Wayne State and
USD for her Masters in Education. Her teaching years were many from rural Maskell
area to South Sioux City, NE as 35 plus years were served being a 5th grade teacher
and some classes at WIT for a challenge. Making friends through the years.
United in marriage to Irving Addison on April 24, 1956. Three children joined the
family, Debra, Diane and Jeffrey.
Further down the road Georgia met Jerry Anstine and their lives began, getting
married in 1973. Blended family, teaching, and working they found enjoyment in
camping and being with dear friends through the years. Campers/trailers got bigger
and their adventures left Little Sioux Park at times and traveled further. Headed south
to Texas in the winter. Christmas got taken down quickly even as family was packing
up to leave and wish them well. Visiting Canadian friends was a special trip.
Georgia liked to be a caregiver. Making trips to see her girls in Indiana and Florida
were always on her bucket list. Loved when Grandkids arrived so she could give and
receive BIGS HUGS. Being part of the Anstine family of the Brothers and Wives was
wonderful for her. The Brothers Weekend was Special!
Jerry and Georgia entered Kingsley Speciality Care in November 2019. Jerry passed
away quickly and wanted good care for Gussie. She mostly made the best of it. Visits
from the nearby preschool children had to be her favorite pastime and making of new
friends to help get through the days. Always keeping her faith she knew she wanted a
different Home…Georgia was a member of Meadow Star Church.
Georgia is survived by her family, daughters Debbie Jackson and family of Orlando,
FL; Diane Addison and family of Clinton, IN; and Jeff (Jean) Addison and family of
Pierson, IA. Grandchildren Terri Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Shawn Jackson, Jessie
Addison, Dillon Addison, and Jillian Wilcox. Great Grandchildren are many and still
coming! Also surviving are brothers-in-law and their wives, Dennis (Susie) Anstine,
Wayne (Diane) Anstine, Dave (Vicki) Anstine, Wally (Joe) Gifford, and many nieces and
nephews. Preceded in death by others she loved.
Georgia was preceded in death by parents and hubsband, Jerry Anstine
