Doris was born April 20, 1934, Remsen, IA the daughter of Nick and Catherine
(Loutsch) Ruba. She grew up in the Remsen area graduating from Remsen St. Mary’s
Catholic High School in 1952. Doris and Bob Seuntjens were united in marriage
February 11, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Remsen, IA. Following their marriage
Doris and Bob lived on a farm east of Kingsley where they raised their family and
farmed. Bob passed away February 22, 2018 after which Doris continued to live at her
home in Kingsley.
Doris was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, IA. She took
care of the flowers and decorations at the church before giving that job up several
years ago. She always took great pride in making sure the altar cloth was ironed to
perfection!
In her earlier years, you could find Doris in Ed’s or Scootch’s having coffee in the
morning and catching up on the local gossip and often spreading it like wildfire! If
not at Scootch’s, she was walking around the pharmacy or the grocery store in
Kingsley. Although Doris often seemed rough on the outside, she loved her
grandchdilrem very much and took great joy watching in their many activities at K-P school.
She was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by many.
Survivors include two sons, Bob (Patty) Seuntjens and Bill (Amanda) Seuntjens, five
granddaughters, Katey (Travis) Ludwig, Karley (Dylan) Bales, Kimmy Seuntjens, Sydney
