Donald G. Zenor, 82, of Kingsley, formerly of Lawton, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St, Michael Catholic Church, Kingsley, IA, with Msgr. Duchaine officiating. Burial will be at Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa, with military rites provided by the U.S. Army. Visitation will be December 29, 2017, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. all at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa. Online condolences may be sent to rohdefh.com. Donald Gene Zenor was born July 25, 1935, Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Chester and Lucille (Hefner) Zenor. He was raised on his parent's farm attending rural school until he went to Lawton High School where he graduated in 1953. In the fall of 1954 he entered the U.S. Army where he served until his honorable discharge in the fall of 1956. After his discharge from the Army he returned to the Lawton area, August 3, 1957 he was united in marriage to Ramonde Cusson. After their marriage they lived in Sioux City where Don worked at Purina. In 1961, Don's father retired from farming, so Don and Monde returned to the family farm where they took over the farming duties. Don enjoyed farming up until his retirement in 1999. He collected antique farming equipment and restored it or kept it as it was provided that it was in running condition. Don was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Kingsley, Iowa. Survivors include his wife Monde of Kingsley, IA, son, Marty (Marti) Zenor of Boca Raton, Fl, granddaughter, Kristen Zenor, son, Michael (Kim) Zenor of Cedar Park, TX, granddaughter, Emily Zenor of Austin, TX and grandson, Chester Zenor of Chicago, IL, daughter, Barb Bowman of Kingsley, IA, granddaughters, Abigail (Jonathan) Woodruff, Preston, England and Olivia Bowman of Sioux City, IA. Also surviving is a sister, Judy Zenor of Tacoma, WA. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt, Fran Hefner and his son-in-law, Mark Bowman.
