Clarice Mary Bainbridge was born June 25, 1931, Remsen, IA, the daughter of Pete J. & Olga A. (Krieps) Nilles. She grew up in the Remsen area graduating from St. Mary’s High School. Clarice and Donald “Donnie” Bainbridge were married January 8, 1952 at the farm house of Clarice’s parents. Following their marriage, they lived in Cherokee, IA before moving to Kingsley, IA where they lived and raised their family. Donnie passed away in July of 1985, after his death Clarice continued to live in Kingsley.
Clarice was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she volunteered to help and work at many church related activities. She was helpful in assisting people to be able to stay in own homes by her willingness to help with everyday activities that they would be unable to do on their own. She had a smile for people and time to help them.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Weiler, sons, Tom (Collen) Bainbridge, Tim Bainbridge, Mark (Jane) Bainbridge and Scott (Rhonda) Bainbridge, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Dennis (Bev), Bud (Judy), Mark (Jean) and Tony (Julie) Nilles and a sisters-in-law, Shirley Nilles, Florence Nilles and Deanne Kass.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Thomas and Lucille Bainbridge, husband, Donnie, daughter-in-law, Vicki Bainbridge, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorne Nilles, George and Phyllis Nilles, Janet Bainbridge, brother, Stan Nilles, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Nilles, Ruth and Gerry Grage, Marcella and Norbert Hansen, Bev and Wayne Weber, Beryl Bainbridge and Tom Kass.
