CarolSue Holdcroft, 75, of Kingsley went to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at a Sioux City hospital with family at her side. A small graveside service will be held for family and close friends. There will be no visitation.Sue was born on September 4, 1937, in Sioux City, the daughter of Archie and Isabel Jackson. She graduated from Central High School. She married Edward Holdcroft on April 1, 1955, and lived in Sioux City until they moved to Moville in 1956. Sue drove a school bus for Woodbury Central Schools, sold Avon products and worked at the Connelly's Corner Drive-In. In 1973 they relocated to Kingsley after purchasing what had been Campbell's Caf. There they established Ed's Caf and with the help of their children, grandchildren, and many employees that became friends, they have been in business for over 40 years. Sue loved to read to her grandchildren and bird watch. She lived a life of service to not only her family but also her community.Sue was loved by her husband, her children: Edward A Holdcroft of Denver, CO; Shelley Grubb (John) of Atlanta, GA; Kelly Mesner of LeMars, IA; Cindi Jones of Kingsley, IA; and Nanci Nilles (Joe) of Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters include: Valarie Rand, Rhoda LaScalla, Sharon Strohm, Tim Lester and Pigeon Heuertz.Sue was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Glory Fletcher, and grandson Lane Wilson.
